The Govt. of Maharashtra is committed to implement ‘Metro Rail Projects’ to improve traffic & transportation scenario in Mumbai Metropolitan Region(MMR). Mumbai Metro Line 3 (MML-3) which is 33.5 km long fully underground corridor with 27 stations (26 underground & 1 at grade) connecting Colaba to SEEPZ via BKC is a part of “Mumbai Metro Master Plan” covering 9 corridors with 153 kms to be implemented in three phases. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has been constituted as a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) between the Govt. of India (GOI) and Govt. of Maharashtra (GOM) and is responsible for the implementation of this project. The objective of Metro is to provide a “Rail based Mass Rapid Transit Facility” to people residing in areas presently not connected by Suburban Rail System and to bring the Metro System within reach of 500 meters to 1 km

Amit Shah, Home Minister addresses an event to mark the 100th International Day of Cooperatives 04 July 2022 HM Amit Shah says, despite challenges, the cooperative movement in the nation went from strength to strength. Centre has prepared model bylaws to enable Primary Agriculture Credit Societies ( PACS ) to diversify from their core business and undertake several activities and services. Addressing a programme to mark the 100th International Day of Cooperatives in New Delhi today, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said the model bylaws have been shared with the states for their comments. He said the model bylaws are intended to make PACS multipurpose and multidimensional. The Minister added that the government is also working on setting up a Cooperation University and developing a database of cooperatives. The Minister said recently the government has decided to computerize 63 thousand functional PACS with an overall budget outlay of over two thousand five hundred crore rupees which will boost the cooperative sector.
